Beginner Band
Beginner Band is compose of the 5th. Grade students attending Old Quarry. Beginner Band is designed to teach the basic fundamentals of a band instrument (Brass, Woodwind and Percussion). Beginner Band covers selections and care of instruments, correct playing position, reading music and awareness of rhythm and pitch. There is no prior study or prerequisite needed for participation in the band program. Students are required to practice regularly and will perform in concerts throughtout the year.
Concert Band
The Concert band is composed o the 6th. Grade students at Old Quarry School. Concert Band is designed to meet the needs of the growing band student. Concert Band covers the improvement of the individual musician as well as the developemnt of ensemble skills.
The Concert Band performs in all concerts.
Symphonic Band
Symphonic Band is composed of the 7th. & 8th. Grade students at Old Quarry. Symphonic Band is the highest level of band at Old Quarry for the advanced band student. Symphonic Band is designed for continued improvement of technical ability, improved ensemble performance and advancementt High School Band. The Symphonic Band performs in all concerts.
